From subtle hints when first lit, the aroma of Kathok King of Incense becomes richer and more woody as it burns. This is a refined and complex scent with medium pungency.
Ingredients come from the flora surrounding the Monastery. Main ingredients include black and white sandalwoods, saffron, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg, as well as high-altitude therapeutic plants. Thirty-two separate processes go into the making, the recipe handed down through numerous masters. It is intended for the Three Gems, the Three Roots and the Dharma Protectors.

Already one of my favorites. A somewhat medicinal and beautiful, unique smell. Makes the room warm and comfortable. Some notes remind me of a very subtle smell of pipe tobacco even though it’s clearly not in the composition!
