Drogön Chögyal Phagpa Incense from the Sakya Monastery has an earthy, long-lasting and intense aroma in true Tibetan style and recommended for experienced users.
Drogön Chögyal Phagpa (1235–1280) was the fifth leader of the Sakya school. He was the first vice-ruler of Tibet under the Mongol Khagan, as well as one of the Five Sakya patriarchs. Phagpa became the tantric guru to Kublai Khan. Sakya Monastery (literally ‘pale earth’) was built in 1268 and restored in the 16th c. It is said that Drogön Chögyal Phagpa was the first to bring the formula for Tibetan incense to China. The incense is made by the Sakya Monastery in Tibet (not India) and is named in honour of its founder.
